Accessibility Services

Make every publication accessible to every reader.

From EPUBs and PDFs to websites and video, we help publishers deliver content that reaches every reader, no matter how they access it.

An accessibility workspace: a laptop showing an Accessible content page beside a screen-reader panel with a Live Region, a numbered Reading Order list and a Speaking… waveform; an EPUB card and a PDF/UA document; over-ear headphones and a switch-access remote; a spiral Accessibility Checklist notebook with Structure, Reading order, Alternative text, Colour contrast, Navigation and Metadata all ticked; an open book with a large Aa type sample, braille dots and a captioned landscape; a pen; a tablet showing a Screen Reader Preview with an alt-text description; and a stack of teal books labelled WCAG 2.2 AA, PDF/UA and ACCESSIBILITY.
What's included

Five ways we make content reach every reader.

Born-accessible files, remediated backlists, audited websites and platforms, captioned media, and written image descriptions — five focused services that together make content reachable in whatever format a reader uses.

Publishing Accessibility

We convert content into born-accessible EPUB and PDF formats from the start, so every title is ready for assistive technology on release — following EPUB Accessibility 1.2 and PDF/UA for navigation, structure, and metadata.

Accessibility Remediation

For existing EPUB, PDF, and other digital files, we remediate content to meet WCAG 2.2, PDF/UA, and Section 508 — tagging and restructuring files, then testing with real screen readers. Well suited to backlists and archives.

Digital & Web Accessibility

We audit websites and digital platforms against WCAG 2.2 success criteria across Levels A, AA, and AAA, and deliver a clear, prioritized VPAT report — automated scans paired with manual assistive-technology testing.

Media Accessibility

Video and other multimedia content need their own approach. We provide accurate captioning and transcription so content is usable by readers who are deaf or hard of hearing — and easier to find through search.

Alt Text Writing

We write short and long descriptions for images, charts, and complex visuals so screen reader users don't miss important context — fully human-written, or AI-plus-human where a specialist checks every description before it ships.

Standards we work to

Built around the frameworks that matter for compliance.

WCAG 2.2A, AA & AAA
Section 508
ADA Title II
EAAEU 2019/882
PDF/UA
EPUBAccessibility 1.2
AODA

We test with real assistive technology, not just automated scanners — so fixes hold up for real readers, not just checkers.
